Jensen Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area

South of the town of Magrath and situated along the toe of the Milk River Ridge, Jensen Reservoir forms a link in the canal system between St. Mary and Milk River Ridge Reservoir.  A day use area awaits those coming for a picnic, boating or fishing outing in a quiet setting.  Though a smaller reservoir, Jensen provides boating and fishing opportunities.  Whitefish are abundant in the lake and in the canal downstream, and pike and walleye are often accommodating to fishermen, summer or winter.  A number of small black-bladed wind mills located near the reservoir are landmarks that let you know you are getting close.

Nearby the reservoir are a number of cliffs used for rappelling.  These cliffs are locally used to train Scout age youth and adults in safety and technique when rappelling natural features, or ice climbing in the winter.
